I am going to Chicago December 26- January 5th to go see my dad and grandparents/ aunts and cousins. I go every year around the same time at Christmas to see everyone, and in the summer for a couple of weeks! I can’t wait to go and see everyone! I am really close to my cousin Wes, I talk to him about 3-4 times a week and I can’t wait to see him and his wife and little girl Madison who is 5. I absolutely love Madison! It is always fun when she is around. And, Jessica, his wife is about 3 or 4 months pregnant and already showing, so that will be neat to see her, and by the time I get there they should know if she is having a boy or a girl. So next time I come, next summer they will have a new additon to the family. It will be good to see my dad too. I fly into Chicago Ohare Airport, and then we drive to his house, he lives about an hour from the airport. We will probably stay at his house for a day or two, and then drive up to Madison, Wisconsin, which is where all of our family is. I will also get to see my grandparents in Wisconsin, which will be really nice, my Grandma is 88 and my Grandpa is 93!!!! My Aunt Pat, my dad’s sister, who I am also close to, who lives in Louisiana, will be coming up to Madison, WI a few days after Christmas, so when we get up there she should already be there! My best friend Trish also lives in Madison, WI, so I really can’t wait to see her too, and go out with her for New Year’s Eve!!! I love and miss everyone, and can’t wait to see everyone and finally relax and not worry about school or work!!! : )

School at the end of the Semester

I am sooo stressed out right now!!!!! I have so many projects and so many exams to study for, all right at the end of the semester! Couldn’t the teacher’s have spread the work out a little bit over the course of the semester!!! I seriously have a project due in practically every single class, and on top of working on the projects I have to worry about studying for finals. On top of going to school full time I have been working 25-27 hours a week, and I just can’t seem to find the time to do anything!!!! All I have been doing since thanksgiving and before thanksgiving is school school school, work work work, it’s making me exhausted! I can’t wait for Christmas break!!!! It can’t come soon enough!!!!

Fender Bender

Yesterday, I was already running late to work, I had just called work to let them know… I had been sitting in stopped traffic for over 15 minutes and all of a sudden I felt someone hit the back of my car! My car moved forward and I heard a crunch. I immediately got out of my car to see what happened and the same woman that had been behind me stopped the entire time decided she wanted to get over into the left hand lane and while doing so she hit my car! I’m sorry but how stupid do you have to be??? She was already stopped trying to get over into the other lane and she hit my car??? I have lots of scapes on my left bumper that are pretty deep and it is probably the size of a basketball. Something like that would cost a decent amount of money to get fixed. The lady was so rude when I got out of my car! I told her she hit my car and she was like ya I know “it’s just a fender bender. I don’t have time for this I was on my way to pick up my daughter from daycare”. Hello! I’m sorry lady but your the one that hit me?! You think I have time to get hit, I was on my way to work! So I called the cops so they could file a police report, and waited over an hour for the cops to come! We had already exchanged information when the cops came and the cop said there was absolutely nothing he could do since we already exchanged info! He didn’t even write a police report! I was so pissed off! I thought it was required for cops to write a police report when they are called out to any accident, even if it is not that major! So I talked to my insurance company and hers. Her insurance company should take care of it since it was her fault. They said as soon as they talk to her and confirm that she hit me, they will get back in touch with me and we will go from there. Yesterday was such a stressful day to say the least!!!!

Thanksgiving without my aunt

This Thanksgiving was the first Thanksgiving my family has had without my Aunt Kathy. She passed away this summer in June of breast cancer at age 49. She was like my second mom, I was so close to her, she was my mom’s baby sister. Every Thanksgiving we would have each year we would have at her and her husbands house. She and my Uncle Godfrey had been married for 25 years and have no children, so this has been really hard on my Uncle. We had Thanksgiving this year at my uncle’s house and it was really hard. It just wasn’t the same without her. Then on the Saturday after Thanksgiving the girls in my family came over to my Uncle’s house and we went through all of her clothes and some of her jewelry. She had so many clothes! It was really sad to go through her belongings, but at least now we each have a little something of hers that will remind us of her. I know my Aunt Kathy is in heaven now, which is where she always wanted to be, and I look forward to one day seeing her in heaven. I think it is good that she is now at peace and not in pain anymore, but it is hard because I miss her so much and think of her every day!!! <3

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was just not long enough!!! I had to work all day Tuesday, Wed. I was off, but I had school work that I had to work on that was going to be due when I got back to school. I was doing that all day, and then I barely had time to go out to dinner with my mom and my uncle. Then Thanksgiving morning my mom was cooking all morning and I had to drive all the way back to my house in Norfolk to get materials that I needed to do a project that is due this Wed. after Thanksgiving. It is a very difficult project that is going to take a lot of time, so I had to work on it over the break! Even after Thanksgiving dinner my mom and I were thinking of working on it, because we knew it was going to take so long. It is a sewing project for one of my fashion classes, and my mom has to help me because I don’t even know how to sew! I really don’t think teachers should have such extensive projects due right after we get back from Thanksgiving break. Thanksgiving only comes once a year and we should be able to enjoy it!!!!!!!

Early Christmas music and decorations

I think it is absurd how some stores already have their Christmas displays up and are playing Christmas music when it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet!!!! I work at Macarthur Mall, and at the very beginning of November they put up their Christmas display in the mall!!! And on top of that, Christmas music is playing in the parking lot, and my job has already started to play Christmas songs. I absolutely love Christmas, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like from stores getting ready for Christmas so early that when Christmas finally rolls around I am going to be sick of it! Does anyone else feel the same way?!?

Tired

I always seem to be tired lately no matter how much sleep I get. When I am doing homework all I can think about is how I want to go to sleep. I work and go to college full time, so it is understandable for me to be tired sometimes.. but all the time is a little strange. Lately it’s been really hard for me to motivate myself to do things. Do any of you have the same problem? Or is it just me?

Vegas!!! Magic tradeshow 2009!

The same day that my Iphone was found I found out that I am going to Vegas next semester for four days for a fashion market trip to go to the tradeshow Magic! The Vegas trip is actually a 3 credit class that I will be getting credit for and us fashion girls who go will be completing projects every day while we are there. Magic is an amazing tradeshow, where all different brands/designers from around the world and the sellers for those brands show up. Buyers from around the U.S. and even different countries get passes to the tradeshow and can conveniently buy for their store/ order items in bulk. Magic is such a success because their are so many different lines of clothing and accessories displayed all in one place, which makes it easy for the buyers to go around and choose what they want for their store. This is going to be an amazing experience considering that I want to be a sales rep or a buyer one day. This will be a great experience to see how buyers do their jobs, and at the same time I will be able to network with different sales reps and buyers, so that when I graduate from college I may have a greater chance of getting a job. And on top of already being excited about going, we are staying at the Ballagio, which is one of the nicest hotels in Vegas!!!! I am so excited about this trip, I absolutely cannot wait to go in Febuary! This week has been an excellent week! I have found out that I get to go to Vegas next semester and my Iphone was found! : )

Iphone FOUND!!!!

I lost my phone on Halloween. I guess my friends and I were somehow stranded down at the oceanfront and got a ride to my friends house by some random guys, which wasn’t safe at all, but we had to get home somehow. My friends said I was texting on my phone before we got into the car, and the next morning I could not find my phone! I looked everywhere in my friends house and I couldn’t find my phone anywhere! So I figured I probably left it in this random guys car, whose name nobody even knew!!!! I kept calling my phone all day the next day hoping that if the guys got in their car at some point in the day they would hear my phone ringing. However, by like 6:00 at night I still hadn’t heard anything by the guys so my dad told me to cancel my plan so that nobody would be able to use my phone! I was so upset because my dad was not going to get me another Iphone, considering how irresponsible I had been, and I had to get my really old razor phone activated. The day before yesterday my friend, who I was with on Halloween night called me and said that she had some exciting news. I thought the news would have to deal with her but she told me my Iphone was found!!!!!! She said Kristen, whose house we were at on halloween night found my Iphone in her mailbox with no note or anything!!! I am so lucky that some random guys remember where my friends house was on Halloween and were nice enough to return it!!!! They could have sold it or used the phone themselves, considering iphones cost at least $500!!!! I am sooo lucky, that has made my week and my month!!!!!!!!! : )

Procrastination

How does one get better at not procrastinating??? I have known for years now; since high school, that I am a procrastinator. I procrastinate when it comes to anything and everything, particularly school work. I have told myself for years now that I will stop procrastinating, but it never happens. Procrastinating really sucks because it leads to me becoming very very stressed, because if I save a project or something for the last minute it doesn’t feel good to be pressed for time. Does anyone have any good ideas to stop procrastinating???
